I think Tupac explained it perfectly in the movie Tupac: Resurrection.. I don't remember the exact words, but it was something like "The difference between a 'nigger' and a 'nigga' is that a nigger has a rope around his neck, but a nigga has gold around his neck"

When these comedians and entertainers say the word, and they 'happen to be black' then the word ain't used as a racial slur. It's all about context. The word 'nigger' doesn't mean anything imparticular, just like the words 'kettle' or 'monkey' don't actually MEAN anything, they're just a collection of letters used to lable a specific thing. If a kettle had been called a table, it would still be a kettle. It's about context, and that's what you need to understand. You think it's ok for white folk to say 'nigger' because black folk do? That's bullshit. How can you be racist against your own kind? Think about what you're saying before you say it
