If i just planted the seed in the ground...

okay this is my first time ever growing pot and im doing the germination thing to 8 seeds right now and one of the grew to an inch long and the other ones havent grown at all, anyway, i dug up some dirt outside, poured some water on it, put the seed about half an inch in the ground or so and covered it back up. not to be a dumbass, but it should grow right? i live in kentucky and its like 80 something degrees out right now and nothing but sun.

it takes longer when you put the seed in the ground
try paper towel method and jiffy peat pellets
