Over watering

I have a couple of plants that only just sprouted in my back yard. Just wanted to know if its possible to kill them by over-watering as its pissing down raining. cheers

This should be in the grow section, and it'll probably be moved there, just a heads up next time.

I'm not too sure as I'm not greatly knowledgable in outdoor grows. How much drainage are the plants getting? However, to keep your plants from getting hurt, I'd suggest cutting off the top half of a 2-liter bottle and putting that over your plant. I've heard other people use that tactic with success, but I haven't tried it myself.
