What happens to the resin when smoking a joint?
Hey, well I was making a simple bong today with a plastic bottle and a joint.. you all know put the joint at the bottom of the bottle and cream it up.
Anyway after I finished the joint I see a fairly large amount of resin on the side of the clear plastic bottle, and it made me think... if I was smoking a joint all of that would have gone into my lungs... Now isn't that just as bad or even worse than tar from a normal ciggerete?
Just a thought, perhaps its harmless but Im sure it's not good for you.Twisty1 Reviewed by Twisty1 on . What happens to the resin when smoking a joint? What happens to the resin when smoking a joint?
I used to have a table of comparison between smoking a joint with a filter, without a filter, hitting a bong, hitting a pipe and smoking a cigarette...hell if i can find it though..
Basically, with filtered joints a majority of the resin is caught in the filter, non filtered joints.. in the paper and on your lips. water pipe is obvious, the bowl takes most of the resin... unfiltered joints give you the most resin/tar filtered joints aren't as bad as the "filter" does catch most of it.. and water pipes make your smoke a lot less hazardous to your health .

The resin is tar in a way, but as haze said, its alot less bad for you, and if you exhale imediatly you can almost get it all out. Some people think holding your breath gets you higher, but it dont, all it does is let that tar soak into your lungs,.

I smoke out of a 13" steamroller and the tube is pretty wide. It will catch a lot of the resin.
