Little old ladies run up bills with 1 floor heater running all day. Most of them pull 1,500 watts. Anything that is warm or hot to the touch runs your bill up big time. If you have a bunch of power strips running with the stamp down transformers - feel them and you'll feel a lot of electricity running up your bill. I turn off most of my power strips when not in use. Heck, I boil water in a pot off the stove for coffee to save a minutes use of the microwave that pulls 1,100 watts.

The rate you pay to run that may be a lot more depending on where you live. I run 2 - 400 hps, 20 -100 watt (actual pull is 26 watts) CLR. 1 - 175 mercury vapor 1 - 80 watt 4' tube. My bill for running them is about 190.00 a month to run them. Sounds crazy, but I get it all done in 6.5 months with tall mature plants with a lot of yeild (I'm hoping for 3.5 to 4 lbs. I was wondering if this should be something to worry about and if so, what would be a good decoy electrical appliance that could make up for the extra $20 a month on the electric bill?, thanks.
