Um... there's a GH chart over in the FAQs... let me see if I get the link...

    Yeap... Here it is: http://boards.cannabis.com/showthread.php?t=25080

Look, the GH 3part you can use mainly in two ways: by stages (clones, veg, flowering) or by weeks (veg1, veg2, flowering1, flowering2... etc).

Or you can mix them with the Lucas formula or other one of those.

I follow the GH chart for weeks.

    How to mix them:::

I had the same questions... so let's see if this helps.

1st, fill your rez, bucket, etc.
You have to add the GH nutes IN ORDER... or nutrient lock-out can occour... whatever the fuck that means.

First, mix the correct amounts of Grow... mix.
    Micro... mix.
    Bloom... mix.

How much? Follow the directions. They give X mL (or Y teaspoons) per US gallon. you just multiply/divide/etc. to get what you need.

After you've mixed everything, give it some time (1 hour?)... then check your pH, and adjust for pH.

You should adjust for pH after the nutrients... as Zandor says, the nutrients have a "buffer" effect on the water's pH. So it doesn't make sense to correct for pH, mix nutes, then re-pH the thing.

    Hope this helps dude.

I was taught to add the micro first, or else lockout would occur.

always add micro 1st...yes that is right.

You can also go to MOndoproshop...Advanced Nutrients calculator and it will show you additives as well as recipes to use with 3-part...

GH and AN 3-part are the same thing...

    Hey seaSmoker,...

    Interesting... I always follow this:
    http://boards.cannabis.com/attachmen...4&d=1121829097

    Grow --> Micro --> Bloom...

    But man, two things:
1st- if it's working for you... keep it up...
2nd- GH, the people that make the stuff, are telling me to Grow --> Micro --> Bloom
3rd- LateWood says you can add Micro first... and if LW says it... you can bet on it being A-Ok.

    Ok... three things...

Thanks Turtle...I have to admit I think I have read it both ways, but I usually digress towards the advice from advanced nutrients in matters relating to this, because...
and this is my only reason...I agree with turtle, if it works for you, then it is right for you, but my reason is because All advanced nutrients products are tested exclusively on medical marijuana-MMJ...therefore...my reasoning.

that's it. If you read gh homesite, they probably tell you something different...It's all a, I said, he said, we said, they said kind of scenario...know what I mean vern
finally, I must say, i don't think it really matters, as long as you never mix the nutes in their undiluted state...They'll blow up!!!

Hell just for discussion. I have read put in all your additives 1st , then add 3-part until you reach desired ppm/tds/EC range. Makes sense right?

I have also read, and keep in mind, this is from a reputable source also. always mix your additives after setting nutrients to desired ppm/tds/EC range, because additives don't add to EC level...well I do not agree with this...I have done many readings while adding additives and I have increased EC readings. Hygrozyme has no EC value that I can tell by measurement, however Liquid karma and Calmag+ do increase the salts in the mix...so you have to figure some of this stuff out for yourself.

I've got great books and have taken great advice from great growers..here, @OG, @TYdot, at KKdotnet, and I screw up all the time...some I share, some I save for when you folks screw up and then I post my experience...It helps everybody learn.

anyway...it's a new spring, the veggies are flourishing, and water's cascading down the streams...have a great day.

    LateWood,

100% with you on that one.

If it's working, keep it up.

As you say, I've seen both things:
    1- additives after
    2- additives before

And shitloads of many other things... I guess, that's what the hobby is about. Experimentation.

SIDE NOTE: I'm with you with the CalMag raising EC levels... but for some interesting reason, Dark Energy (high concentrated) does not make noticable changes in the mix's EC/ppm/pH.

Whatever... this experimentation thing is great!

    Best to all of you,

Micro first is how I do it..but I have a question while we are on the subject.. I use the Lucas formula and add Diamond Nectar and KoolBloom.. Well I don't think the Diamond Nectar does a damn thing.. I have grown several grows with and with out it and can't tell a difference.. Anyone else try this stuff with any luck?? Is there something better that will work?? Do you really need this stuff or is just another way for them to make money?? Frankly I think I could do just as well with just the micro and bloom.. I think I may have answered my own question.. :stoned: :stoned:
