Everybody has certain slang and a way of talking with their friends. It's not a present day thing. When I was in high school, 20 years ago, we talked different from most adults too. And even now, I can go to work and discuss contracts and purchase orders all day long, but if I call an old friend I'll instantly revert back to the speech I used way back when.

What I don't get is the clothing today. When I was in school if I dressed like the kids I see today( pants that are 5 sizes to big, shoes untied, goofy ass hat cocked sideways) people really would have thought I was retarded. I know fashions change, and some of the stuff in the '80's does look pretty funny now, but it at least it looked like we knew how to dress ourselves. What's the point in looking like you don't know what size pants to wear? Oh well, I must be gettin old
