Thiocabomide Germination
Firstly, I use the good ole' paper towel method for germination, I find most of the time it takes 4-5 days, sometimes more to germinate seeds for planting. I recently went through my old chem cabinet and found a half-pound of thiocarbomide crystal, pure (haven't used it in years for printing). So, after much research I decided to make a 15% solution with 85f water, soaked them for about 20 min, put in a tupperware with damp paper towel, set on the top of my warm tv, then stereo; and voila! 20hrs later I have 6/6 sprouting seeds. This is hands down the fastest way to germinate seeds I've found yet. The articles I found were of experiments on mustard (which I do grow also) and bramble bush seeds, that a 3% solution of thiocarbomide and a soak of 15-20minutes consistently produced 95% germination, of course the seeds in the experiment were placed directly in soil. I made a 15% (overkill) solution because the small quantity I was making and didnt want to get the calculator out to math the dilution.
I may say that Thiocarbomide is hard to come by, the bottle I have of it is quite old and came from mellindkrot chemical (back when you could order chems pure, or glacial from dow and kodak). I am astounded at the speed, I have soil and pots mixed and ready to go, but I currently have a hermie by itself in my veg box being wounded for trichome production, I think I will pull it for weed oil (cause I have to change the lights); and 4 females with 2 weeks to go (or so) in my flowering room (where these new seedlings will go in 3 weeks or so). Does anyone have any experience with this method as far as effect on sex? this grow finnishing now was 4 females out of 5 (5th was hermie stated before) these are just bagseed so I don't expect to get all female again, but any input would be helpful.4x5 Reviewed by 4x5 on . Wow, I'm jealous. I'll have to see what I can do about getting my hands on some of that!
You should pull the hermie, and wound one or two of the 6 you're planting in their veg stage. Then you can compare trich's
(I may be doing the same, let me know - we can compare notes!)

LOL! Effing UPS.
Looks like the only place selling it or it's counterpart (Thiourea) is either India or China. We know how far that would get.
