Anything fun going on this weekend? I'd hate to have lawn work and sweating be all that happens. Has anyone heard of any fun things to go do in the area this weekend?
Sometime we ought to have a group meeting at a hookah bar. There's one in Addison, and I think one in Richardson. Might be fun. :rasta:
Have a great weekend everyone.

I sure didn't know that there were hookah bars around..and I can't help but wonder,if they're visited by arabs that don't care for folks like us:stoned:
After my experience in Saudi, seeing fellers in arab dress of any kind, makes me growl..lol. Hmm..I wonder if they allow women to go there ? Heck..they might not let non-arabs in,anyhow.
Have a good one ! :stoned:

Well, a bit of free fun if you like airplanes. At DFW, there is a 'lookout point' in the center of the runaways. You follow the signs for the Administration building on the south side and turn down Corbon. It's monitored so smoking isn't an option, but it is a nice place to chill.
I was pondering Six Flags today (I'm on vacation) but damn amusement parks are geting expensive....I said my piece, so now, I hush.

I recall once many years ago driving from Fort Worth to Denton on I-35W. There is an airport north of Fort Worth, and we parked and had a perfect view of the runway. It was gorgeous, all lit up at night. We had planes coming in directly over our heads. It was really an impressive and beautiful sight.
I won two season passes to Six Flags. Unfortunately, I don't ride the rides there, so they would be a waste for me. So I thought it would be pretty neat to do something special with them.
I have a friend who is suffering from brain cancer. He and his wife are completely broke due to all the medical bills. So I thought that perhaps their son would really enjoy getting to go to Six Flags anytime he wanted, with his dad. He'll never know who gave him the tickets, because they came from his "guardian angel". But the way his parents described his face and reaction was priceless. He and his dad went this past weekend and my buddy said they had a blast. It was the first time they have been able to do anything that cost money in quite awhile. I will admit that I don't get too emotional very often, but my eyes were running over when my friend called tonight to tell me about their day. They are planning his son's birthday and will get to go back to ride all the rides they missed this weekend.
This was a pretty special night for me. My Mavs won and my buddy has some pretty special memories with his son. All in all a good end to a good day.
I hope all of you have a wonderful week.
Onward!

Ride the Titan for me, my friend. I'm a boring person at carnivals and things like that. I have a hard time just keeping up with those mean old horsies that go up and down and round and round. Whooooey, scary stuff!!!
Sorry I got so sappy last night. My buddy's phone call really got to me. It's really hard for them right now. He's having a "living memorial" in a week or so, where he gets to basically be present at his memorial. He wants to speak to everyone who he loves and let them know what they have meant to him. That's going to be a tough thing to deal with. He's a big ol' guy, tough and strong as an ox. But when he got sick, he began shrivelling up quickly. He looks so different now.
You guys have a great night. I'm off to sit out back with my wife and battle to the death with the mosquitos.
Take care everyone.
Onward!
