The National Post is sending shockwaves across the country this morning with a report that Iran's Parliament has passed a law requiring mandatory Holocaust style badges to identify Jews and Christians.
But independent reporter Meir Javedanfar, an Israeli Middle East expert who was born and raised in Tehran, says the report is false.
"It's absolutely factually incorrect," he told The New 940 Montreal.
"Nowhere in the law is there any talk of Jews and Christians having to wear different colours. I've checked it with sources both inside Iran and outside."
"The Iranian people would never stand for it. The Iranian government wouldn't be stupid enough to do it."
Political commentator and 940 Montreal host Beryl Waysman says the report is true, that the law was passed two years ago.
"Jews should wear yellow strips, Christians red strips, because according to the Iranian mullahs, if a Mulsim shakes hands with a non-Muslim he becomes unclean."

The National Post cites Iranian expatriots living in Canada as its primary source on the story.

I don't know about this article. I didn't see it on BBC. However I think it is ridiculous that Christians and Jews should wear badges. Radical Islam is a threat to the world too, as is Zionism and fundemental Christianity. The true meaning of Islam is simply to serve God and to serve others.

Remember too that it was the supposed Christians who lynched black people in the 19th century in Amerika. Amerika is supposedly a Christian nation, but yet slavery wasn't abolished until the 1860s!! Yea the whole story could be false. Don't forget to that 9/11 was done by our government and not hijackers. And our media did censor images and stories. Watch 9/11 In Plane Site and you will see. They are trying to gear up support for the war with Iran that is coming probably in June or July.

This Iranian story was not on the BBC. Thats my first stop for news. So I don't know if the story you posted Psycho is factual.

But since Iran is a Muslim dictatorship and Amerika is slowly growing to become a fundemental Christian dictatorship after 9/11, I would not be surprised if BOTH countries made its citizens wear identification badges.

Psycho...before you go bashing Iran..why don't you look and see whats happening to your own country!!?? Afterall, your President did try to ban homosexual marriage in the US Constitution which supposedly guarantees life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! In Canada, gay marriage is legal eh!

I know this country isn't perfect, hell, we got politicians. They're all crooked! But I do know that we are a hell of a lot better than Iran for freedoms.
