Amerika was nice while it lasted.

a new co-worker came in to work today,
he is Canadian-born, but lived in South Africa for last 15+ years.
i asked him how modern the cities were there
he said, first thing he thought when he got here [in USA] was:
"this is a 1st world country..."-obviously in a mind boggling way

as a roomate said the other day,
"Rome lasted 1000 years"
