    Do you watch the news?

I probably get too much news. I watch local news, out of L.A. I try and steer clear of the world news and don't watch CNN at all. I do glance through the newspaper daily. I stop at only stories that catch my eye and read them. Some stories on Iraq. Look at the baseball standings. See if the Reds won and a read most of the business section.
I have vowed many times not to watch the news or not even care what is going on in the world. Become disconnected and only care about things that around me. Cause I have no control on what happens in the world. The news can be very depressing. Every story is about murder, gas prices, immigration and war. Why do I even care?

Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres

I stopped reading the news since 11th grade after finding out they gave me mad nightmares.
    The world is fucking crazy.

I'll only watch the news with something major is going on, to get the networks' reaction. I read (what a CONCEPT, America) the news, anything and everything that looks interesting.

I watch CNN, BBC and Sky news quite often. I get the CNN Breaking News e-mailed to me aswell (since 9/11). I cant believe I missed that when it was on TV. I come home, and all I see is my mum watching TV and a load of smoke on the telly. 30 mins later and I wouldve seen the twin towers collapse.

I did tape the Asia Tsunami disaster each day aswell - 15 mins each day at 8pm, so that when Im older I could show my kids the tape when they were being asked questions about it in school. Then they can see how the disaster progressed over the weeks. Plus, its handy to watch when you need reminding of just how vulnerable we all are - from terrorists, nature and the government.
Mum taped over it with bloody Casualty though.

    I'm with lemonboy.
I flip through the newpaper and see if anything sparks my interest
and glance at the major headlines and what not.
I think it's more interesting than depressing, maybe that's just me.
