5000K have usually a good spectrum for vegging. It isnt high at all, the most used fluo temp color indoors are 6000-6500K, looking for more compact plants. But 5000K is fine, especially if the plant will flower outdoors.

Anyway, the difference between fluo's colors are small, all work fine in veg if u use enough watts.
knna Reviewed by knna on . Fluorescent Light Color Spectrum I'm setting up a cabinet to start seedlings in before they go outside to their final resting place. I've got some fluorescent light fixtures with 'sunshine' bulbs in them. They are only 2 footers, and the color is 5000k. Is that too high to promote veg growth in plants? Thanks Buck Rating: 5
