i actually really like the idea of having an IRC channel. i would use that more than the current chat room

Yeah, java is a terrible chat server/whatever the technical term is. teamspeak is even better, get good use out of my mic.

IRC stands for internet relay chat, It's a nifty tool thats been around alot longer than ICQ I believe, check out mirc.com its the basic IRC app.

ICQ was originally made by Mirabilis in the late 90s. And IRC's been around longer than that.
