a .223 is 30 to 50 times as powerful as a .22. it is a matter of the type and amount of propellant. that is why a .223's case is so huge. also, most .22s are JSP or wadcutters with little to no metal jacket and/or non lead material. making them perfect to plink with. a .22 can not go through 2 layers of kevlar, while a .223 can easily go through 40.

By shooting, I don't mean you've got a 'gat' and you shoot at cans while holding said 'gat' in a sideways-gangsta style.
