    Any shooters in here?

So, how many of us shoot around here? By shooting, I don't mean you've got a 'gat' and you shoot at cans while holding said 'gat' in a sideways-gangsta style. I mean you collect, are knowledgable, and are RESPONSIBLE when it comes to firearms.

    Anyway, been shooting since I was about 6. I currently have 3 semi-automatics: HK USP 45, Beretta 96FS (.40), and a Springfield XD 45.

Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres

Ooops, well a mod can remove them if need be. I apologize if it's not allowed. I tried to keep this a mature thread by differentiating between the gangsta wannabes and those of us that understand the art of markmanship. Believe me, the last thing I want is some teeny-bopper coming in telling us how his 'dawg let him use his 'gat' and now he wants a Glock of his own. Those kind of folks make the rest of us look bad.

I don't own any rifles or pistols these days but I did love to shoot at targets, moving targets, vehicles and silouettes (personell) when I was in the military. I have fired and qualified on every weapon that a infantryman has access too. Including lots of other countries light machine guns. I still like to go out with friends once in awhile and fire their weapons. My longest accurate shot was with a tow missle was at a tank at a distance of 3500 meters. My favorite weapon of all is still the M16.

I like to shoot for stress relief and to stay in practice/accurate. I hunted when I was younger but haven't done so in years

@friendowl - Shooting a crossbow is something I want to try. Those things look like they'll do some damage. A little to big to use as a concealed carry weapon though.

Because we can and because some of our fellow Americans are crazy and devoid of common sense. Firearms aren't always about killing. In fact, you'll find alot of Americans that own firearms and have concealed licenses, but still find it hard to draw on someone.

Firearms are beuatiful pieces of machinery and are simply tools. The responsibility for them always fall with its users. Markmanship, in and of itself, is a tremendous skill. I don't know how many times I've seen a newbie at the range think they just pull the trigger and fire and the gun magically works. There is alot of practice that goes into being accurate.

Besides, what guy doesn't like things that go BOOM!!!.
