The born-againers, fundies, and other christers, that still support Bush are more concerned with the apocalypse and second coming of the non-existent, mythical savior god than the destruction of their country. They do not care about credit card debt, national debt, a war that was unnecessary (Iraq), overuse of the disappearing oil supply, a raped economy, horrendous foreign policy in the â??holy landâ?�, crooks running the rest of the so-called government, and the transformation of a half-way decent Republican Party into a régime of Bush cronies that have exploited 9/11 for profit and power .

I do not believe that the government coordinated 9/11. I was profoundly affected by it, because I was in lower NYC very close to the scene on the day it happened, and still go there almost every day. But, it never should have happened in the first place - and would not have if we had people in charge that had some awarness of reality (including Clinton).

Unless the human race drops the mental illness called religion, all signs point toward eventual mass destruction, and possible the end of human life as we know it.

Good job, Bush - you outdid our worst expectations. You were lucky that the Democrats were so weak, because regrettably, myself, and many other people, voted for you due to that.

Yes they did catch us "off guard", but that was because of stupidity on our part. For one thing the doors of the captain's cabin should have been secured. The airlines allowed children, and others to see the pilot(s). Israel has not had a hijacking since they reinforced the doors. No Israeli plane will bow to the demands of hijackers and change course, regardless of box cutters - or even guns.

Supporting the Afghanistani insurgents in the 80's, by the U.S. government, was a huge mistake. We even supported jihad against the USSR by them!

If Jimmy Carter ha deposed the Iranian Ayatollah, and replaced him with a more secular Shaw, Reagan wouldn't have won the election, ushering in Bush, then Clinton, and Dubya. I remember debating the "Shaw vs. Ayatollah" question with ill-informed people before they took the hostages. May of my left-leaning young associates at work (c. 1979) believed that the Ayatollay was better than the Shaw of Iran. I disagreed, even back then.

I agree with your assessment/position. In order to change the course of U.S. religious nationalism we need a new legislative branch and to demand sensible, socially (i.e., not rooted in religious doctrine) responsible legislation to expand and protect liberties and equalities. That rules out nearly everyone sitting in the congress and senate because they voted for the UnPatriot Act.

To put a practical twist on it... VOTE them all out!

I saw a "Special Report" Friday night about ONE Air Marshall that is telling the truth about how the planes are not any safer than before 9-11..and actually said after the show aired he would most likely be fired but he could not keep working and America believe they were any safer..He was a Marshall himself..anyway...he showed many clips of our Marshalls patrolling the skies talking on phones and other "distractions"..and also that they are not supposed to be known who they are..heck even I could pick them out. So why instead of all the superficial PC "stuff" being done all in the name of our safety are there not steel doors on planes yet? That was a great example using Israel that caught my attention. He said by the Marshall making their presence known that IF Terrorists were on board they would know exactly who to take out FIRST. I believe him. I am assuming we (America) still don't have steel doors in our planes....

See..what you ain't understanding is,is that our soldiers and I,don't serve Bush..we serve our country and it's citizens,the president is merely the commander-in-chief..just another imperfect sinner..like you and I. My primary allegiance is to God and His Son,Jesus Christ. Our soldiers risk their lives,because they believe in the mission and they want to plant the seeds of Freedom,Justice and Equality for all.

Our soldier's also have the good sense to realize--that it's best to fight the war over there..rather than on the streets of America.

Acting in self-defense of ourselves and our allies,is not illegal. Why do you feel that it's okay for us and our allie's to be attacked and that we cannot defend ourselves from such ? That we must first git permission from non-Americans and non-allies ?
