very easy: take a large plastic soda or hawaiien punch bottle and cut the bottom off. poke a hole in the cap and put a little bowl (preferebly a one of those ratchet things) in the hole. get a bucket of water. put the device into it until the water is almost up to the bowl. put the spice in the bowl and light it while you SLOWLY lift the bottle. the space will fill with thick smoke. when the bottle is almost out of the water, quickly take off the cap/bowl and inhale thru the top.

also, i prefer bongs and blunts, but often end up smoking glass pieces out of conveniance.
