Didn't a forum member here (scooby) get busted by cops cause they read his posts on this forum? He was complaining all about it. Didn't you guys see it? Joke or not, it scared the shit out of me. Made me realize we're still not safe as we think we are privately browsing through the internet forums.

My privacy feels violated as hell.
Everytime I log onto this forum I feel unsafe as a motherfucker. That's seriously no way to live. I find it extremely unfair that I have to look behind my shoulder everytime I visit here.

I made only ONE thread where I talk about getting weed and many specifics about it and even posted a picture of it and now I regret it like a motherfucker and I'm shitting my pants thinking cops might see it and decide to come to my home and bust me. I feel unsafe as hell enough just mentioning that cause now cops might view all my recent posts and try to find that thread!

Anyway, I think the edit button's five minute limit is useless. If users later regret something they poster like the pictuere thing, later than five minutes later, they should be able to edit it. Even maybe delete button to delete it.

If a cop wanted some easy cash, all he would have to do is trace our IP addresses and come into our homes and bust us.

IP addresses are so easy to track. However, unless a connection is made, the only people who are getting access to the IPs coming in are our lovely moderators. Of course, for a cop, it wouldn't be hard to get in through a more underhanded procedure, but then we'd have an advantage in court. They could also demand some sort of warrant, but we're also protected under a lot of things. Although no longer protected under the first amendment, we do have that whole undeniable proof dealy. They'd have to prove that everything we said on here is true, that you didn't just find that picture online, etc. Or I think that's how it works, anyways.

Now, granted, what would be far easier for a cop would be to find an ip using an underhanded means, find out where we live using a geolocator (which, to tell you the truth, aren't really all that accurate no matter what the movies tell you) and catch you with paraphenalia or a small amount of drugs.

They could go down to a bad neighborhood and wait for pookie to sell some tweak. Not only will pookie go to jail for longer (at least here in California, if they catch me with less than an ounce I get a freaking fine) but they didn't have to work nearly as hard.

Granted, this does not mean that we are 100% safe. But hey, if you go to jail for posting a picture on a website, maybe people will realize just how stupid this prohibition really is.

It's extremely doubtful that any of us have anything to worry about when it comes to cops looking at this board. Finding anything useful, to a cop, would be like finding a needle in a haystack. Think about it. How many posts are there here every day? How many from your home town? The chances that your local police force has somebody working full time to monitor this board is slim to none. They're simply too busy to deal with it. So who would? The DEA? Maybe, but if you think the DEA is going to expend its resources to go after some 15yo kid bragging about his $20 sack of schwagg ..well.. you need to stop huffing dust off.

There are LEO that roam this site...They.. like everyone else, have a right to view this site. They want to ensure we're not breaking any major laws...which we're not. We plan to keep it that way too. You wonder why the moderators are hardasses sometimes? It's for the saftey of the site, the owner and everyone that posts here. We moderate for saftey and comfort...but saftey first.
On a side note, I'm not sure what all this worrying crap is about... if anything the new owners are going to take this site further than Ron's resources allowed him...And NO... this site was not bought by a seed company or HomeLand Security...These people are activists and potheads just like the rest of us...so stop assuming the worst.

There are many changes in the works right now....changes that will become apparent over the next couple of weeks.

Cannabis.com is now in 12/12, after Ron's long and productive vegetative cycle...It's time for this site to Flower.
