Look at my Babies 2Weeks Flowering
Hello j913jones
There looking fine
You started the flowering period in mid April, that is about the same time as my present grow but I count it as four weeks, I think you're counting two weeks from when the flowers first appeared.
Anyway, the MH will produce buds, it provideds light from the blue end of the spectrum which is perfect for veggitive growth and it also produces enough light from the red end of the spectrum to induce flowering. However the HPS (which is weak in the blue light) produces far more red light, and that is what the plants need when flowering.
I use a switchable ballast MH/HPS, and I find this the best option. Some growers will use the MH throughout the entire grow and they seem to do ok with it, I have to say though when I was forced to use the MH for a considerable amount of time on my last grow, the crop size was reduced quite considerably. The quality was still fine though
.
However I wouldn't worry about it, the plants look ok and barring any major problems cropping up you will have yourself an harvest of you're own homegrown pretty soon
Also on future grows you might want to try an HPS lamp, so you can compare the difference yourself
