Saddam Hussein has refused to enter a plea after being formally charged with ordering the killing and torture of hundreds of Shia villagers, telling the judge at his trial that he was still Iraq's president.

The detailed charges read out by Judge Raouf Abdel Rahman stemmed from the killing of 148 Shias after an attempt on Saddam's life in 1982 in the village of Dujail.

The ousted president is accused of ordering the killing and torture of hundreds in the village, including women and children. He is also accused of sending helicopters and planes to bomb Dujail, north of Baghdad.

Funny how he took all there rights away and tought he was above the law....

O yeah you think bush after hes killed everyone will be on trial for 9/11 and going after sadam for oil? O yeah isn't the CiA shipping out people to get intergated? O yeah isn't bush doing warrentless serches and arrests with out trials? We are told from our bibles to read and learn to get to know god because we should fear him because when god forgets you your Dust. He does not forgive the ones who have put there Fear of man over there Fear of GOD. Watch as your right to really do what the bible says is taken away and Tech is used to round up all opposed to false Religion. You will see things being done that you KNOW the bible doesn't like and if your suporting Satan's system instead of Trusting in God's True Promis when this system is over... God will forget you to!

I think his trial is going to cost money that could be better spent..why not just let the Iraqi people have him back and deal with him? They would probably give him his just desserts better than we could...after all..what would be his punishment under the Koran?

That's who has him on trial now. They waited till an elected government was put into place so it would be Iraqi's putting him on trial instead of westerners. He'll get a good case of Arab justice in the end!

I would imagine that would be a way....public hanging and executions are the norm....I believe. I've found sites stating that executions are a method and I remember that some drug smugglers were hung in the public square in Iran to set an example. No lethal injections there!
