U.S. to Renew Diplomatic Ties With Libya
WASHINGTON - The Bush administration has decided to restore normal diplomatic relations with Libya for the first time in over a quarter century after taking Moammar Gadhafi's country off a U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism, State Department officials said.
Gdhafi was once known here as perhaps the most dangerous man in the Middle East. President Reagan ordered air attacks against Libya in 1981 and 1986, the latter because of suspected Libyan sponsorship of a terrorist attack at a West Berlin disco frequented by American soldiers. Two Americans died there.
Since 2003, however, Libya has been held up as a model by the administration for the way aspiring nuclear weapons powers should behave.
The American attack on Iraq made Gadhafi wonder whether he would be next. In December 2003, he agreed to surrender his weapons of mass destruction facilities and agreed to allow them to be shipped for storage in the United States.

Post Carter era......Reagan showed these folks that we grew a set since Jimmy left office. The strike was actually to take out Gadhafi.

All the US is doing is:
making sure the US has oil b/c of a future war w/ Iran
Iran will halt oil exports to the US b/c of the sanctions that will
be put upon it...
now Libya's oil industry is being revived b/c they "are no longer a terrorist state"
i don't know all the history of Libya, but ITS CLEAR
THERE ARE DEF. CORPORATE INTERESTS INVOLVED IN THIS DEAL

Iranâ??s chief justice rips Chiracâ??s nuke warning
Tehran, Iran, Jan. 25 â?? Iranâ??s top Islamic judge said on Wednesday that the European Union was losing ground in its push to refer the Islamic Republicâ??s nuclear program to the United Nations Security Council after French President Jacques Chirac threatened that France might use its nuclear might to respond to a major terror attack on its soil.
Iranâ??s Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Mahmoud Hashemi-Shahroudi told reporters that the stance taken by â??certain European officialsâ? about a nuclear war showed the EUâ??s â??weaknessâ? regarding other statesâ?? rights to develop nuclear energy.
Shahroudi said that the Islamic Iranian nation believed nuclear capabilities to be Iranâ??s â??rightâ?.
The EU along with the United States believe that Tehran is pursuing a covert nuclear weapons program under the guise of peaceful nuclear energy production.

Your response:
"Iran said they would halt oil production if/when US attacks
what would happen to China, India, and Europe:
they would get from other places, like Iraq, Venezuela, Niger, Saudi Arabia..."
That wouldn't happen, there would be a temporary shut down before you would find French armies gaurding Iranian oil riggers....they would use nukes to secure their position.
If thats not a response, don't know what to tell ya bro!
Have a good one!
