Butane Honey Oil 1st Time Pics!

harmonicminor...I know my shit is good. :-) If you use the proper filter in connection w/ your tube, you shouldn't have the slightest worry about particulate matter getting into your final product - even if you don't use whole nug... and the whole point of making honey oil is harvesting the kif as an oil, so I have no idea why you wouldn't want kif to just melt right through your filter. That is after all what honey oil is - resin glands/kif in oil form. My oil had zero particulate matter in it; just clean honey colored resin - no little pieces of bullshit in the oil. The best way to make oil is to dry your herb very well - I mean bone dry... then crumble to dust before you load the tube. If your tube is built right, and you have the proper filter like I said, then no worries about any particulate matter contaminating your honey. I've heard of people using whole nug in their first wash, then emptying the tube and grinding up the material for a second-wash. This in my opinion is a genuine waste of time and butane - as a far more potent product could be achieved w/ the method I stated above. Using whole nug in extractions is also in my opinion a practice used only for aesthetic purposes. Yes, a clearer oil will be the result, but I don't believe it would be any more potent than a solid first wash with well-ground herb. In addition, I've seen people yield nice light honey colored oil w/ the whole nug technique, but never white like yours. Maybe it's that shoddy M&M container you're using? Remember, butane is a viscious solvent and should not be used in conjunction with weak plastics. This could be very dangerous -rendering your final product not fit for human consumption. They don't call it honey for nothing. It's supposed to look like honey, not like something from a sperm donor bank. I was hoping for your answer in your last reply to say something like it was a lighting issue. Peace anyways.
