Just like everyone else said roaches just help you smoke all the joint the choice is yours though.. do you like saving roaches and then having something to chief when your dry? Or do you just want to smoke all the joint?

Okay 30 second guide on roachs.... (London style)

The perfect roach is made from the greencard in the back of a rizla pack. Once this card is used underground tickets will suffice.

The roach should be approximately 2cm(width)Xdesired length(normally just under 2cm).

You roll the roach into a slighty cone shaped cyliner. The roach should be rolled very tightly. Now roll around the roach like you would roll a fag around a filter.

When you start to smoke the heat of the draw will quickly make the roach expand into a perfct cylinder so it doesn't filter any weed.

The roach stops you burning your fingers and it stops you wasting any draw... you smoke untill the bitter end and then chuck it. OR if your a tramp you reuse it for the resin but this makes it taste dirty.

And while on the subject, I want to know what the purpose of burning the end of the roach before you smoke is all about. I only do that because everyone else does, but there's no explanation for it.

When I roll the roach, I light it to heat the carboard, which firms it into how it's rolled.

Secondly, after I've rolled up my joint, sealed it etc. I burn the end of the roach a little, so that the end of the rolling paper is not overlapping the end of the joint (because it will get wet, tarred up and shit).

Not only english people smoke with roaches. Here in the netherlands, I haven't seen anybody smoke without.

You're confused, or maybe the jargon is different.

a ROACH is the very last bit of a joint or blunt. People like roaches cause they seem to have a concentrated amount of THC from the rest of the smoke passing through it to get to your lungs.

a GARRETT is the piece of paper/etc. that you put in the end to stop weed from entering your mouth.
