    Getting The "Spins"

Sorry for the double-post, I would've editted, but it has a 5-minute restriction for whatever reason. I was just going to say that I might still have a chance. I'm trying to grow some myself, but I'm a giant plant-noob, so I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Can somebody present some information to help me out? This is the link.

If you can stop yourself smoking for about 6 months, you will get the feeling again when you resume. But you're right after a while it will die out again.

Is there any possible way to shorten the duration of tolerance? Does it have to do with what's in your bloodstream? Or is it because your mind is used to it? If it's because of what exists in your blood, there should be a way to absorb it. I'm sure this isn't true, however.

Haha. I've done that before, getting a little high and spinning in a chair. I've actually been wanting to trip on DXM alone for awhile now. Unfortunately, we're out of cough syrup. I remember the Delsym orange-flavored cough syrup had only DXM in it. Too bad I wasn't very informed on it when we had a full bottle of it.

I have only gotten the spins a couple of times. The one I remember best was when my circle decided to try "compressions" after taking a bong hit. Of coarse we all hit the floor after doing it.

There's so many threads on this subject, but I thought I'd reply here.

I honestly believe you either have to smoke ridiculous amounts, (LIP always says he smokes 7 grams a day and is permanently high) or space them out.

I'm trying to do the latter. Like everything, it loses its magic after a while.

But I went through this when i first started, without telling anyone. It got to the point where it was just an addiction. 6 months can really make a difference. It takes effort to stop for that long. By the time you do, you forget what it feels like to be high, and when you smoke, it really is enjoyable.

The problems start when you start buying and smoking large amounts, because that means you smoke more regularly. When I say I get high now, it means I just smoked a spliff, the effects aren't there.

As to the original question, I think the body can break the active substances of cannabis down into non-active substances in a matter of hours, and I think the leftover substances, regardless of how long they remain in the system have no effect. I'm not certain. I think tolerance is more psychological than physical.

Very interesting and informative post, synthesizer.

This is most likely why the government labels cannabis as a "Gateway drug." Since the tolerance duration is so prolonged, it can cause people to want to experience a good high everytime whenever they want without the effects decreasing in such a short amount of time. Therefore, they might seek out for another drug whose tolerance period is a lot shorter than marijuana's. It all makes so much sense now...
