    I use peat pellets too!

    Good stuff.

Keep your little seedlings in the dark until they sprout - remember they can't process photosynthesis until they sprout.
Once they burst through the soil, place them under your light.

Also keep in mind they don't need nutrients for the first 3-4 weeks since everything they need is in the soil and seed!

hey i put my seeds in peat pellets last night, but i thought that they should have light, so i had them under to cheap 75 watt Phillips Plant Light.. turned them off about 2 hours ago, but they were under for about 12+.. will this affect anything?

If you have planted the seeds in the peat moss pelets then YES they need light. The seeds should be covered by this point with the peat moss so the tap root would be fine. Seedlings need to stretch for the light to grow.

It'll be fine, I germinated a seed in paper towels then threw it in a peat pellet under the humidity dome and it sprouted the next morning under 75 watt fluorescent light so far so good.

Peat pellets work great. Make sure they stay moist.

Keep them in the dark until the seedling breaks through, then put under a flourescent light, keeping the light no more than 1"-2" away (1" for tubes, 2" for CFL's) from the seeedling. When the plant gets about 4" tall, put it under stronger light.

good deal....all four sprouted....(I'm a papa!)....however one of the ww looks like the tap root grew all spindly UP and over the dirt and gets really narrow at the tip....the cracked open seed with the stem and leaves seems to weighing everything down.............i gently pushed the root back down into the soil and covered it up...but the seed looks to be too heavy for that tiny root.....is there still hope......no chance of pics
