420 KWH IN 9 days!!!!!! what to do?

My average KWH usage is about 50 per day in my house and I just moved in last week. My closet pulls about 250 watts(approx .25 Kwh per hour.) I have a feeling that the cops are gonna bust in any minute now because of this outrageous mistake on the power company's behalf. I know that for a fact that if i turned on every light in the house and the computer, and the tv 24 hours a day, that the power usage would be nowhere near 2000 watts per hour. My dad seems to think that the drain on power is coming from my closet. which is all CFL's. this shit is ridaculous.

Ive had my suspicions that the landlord has been growing some dank ass skunk cuz every once and a while i smell it in very inconspicous places. But if so that is some bullshit that My dad and I are paying for his grow and Not even gonna get broken off with some dankness. and then it could be possible that i'll get busted for a measly cfl garden.

No such thing. It was a j o k e!. Its a joke with journeymen electricians to tell a new apprentice "they got a leak in such and such line and its his job to find it today". You can relax now.

go to your breaker box and feel them for heat, if any are warm or hot, figure out what appliance, central air, whatever is on it, that circuit may be the culprit. Or turn off your mains and go look at your meter, it should not move at all(or hardly). This 50kwh/day is high, I use between 30-40/day it might be your Air Conditioner(s), maybe the elec. co hasn't been out to read the meter in a while and is taking it out on you, call the power company and tell them whats going on, just lock your closet and room too if they come over to look at your meter and breaker box.
Since you moved in last week, they don't know how much power it takes to run your house/habits, DONT WORRY, 250w is less than the 1 PC I have running here all day/night (not my fault)

If you do not know anything about electricity, I would kep my cack scratchers outa that breaker box. You happen to have weet feet or just happen to be standing in a little water and ground the 220, you might wake up dead. Do as 4x5 suggested, lock your door, call the power company and ask them to come check the meter. Make sure you advise landlord you intend to do this first, as the problem may "solve itself" mysteriously:dance: Thats free and they will do it within a day or so. Just my suggestion.
