    Topping and Pruning?

first, WHY do you want to prune it at all ? ... usually, the only reason to 'top' the plant, is to force it to shorter height, and you will get two shoots to bud, instead of the single ... some favor pruning, some don't ... if you have the room for it to stretch, don't top it at all, in fact, you may prefer to just tie the stem down instead ... if you do decide to top it, just cut off the growing tip ... simple enough ... just cut it a short distance above the crotch of the stems just below the tip ... you cant screw it up too easily, but don't get carried away ... some strains stress under pruning, and will turn male on ya ... I would let it grow taller, first ... let it go a foot or so, then decide if it wants to be topped ... hope that helps ... :smokin:

    Topping and Pruning?

Personally i wouldnt prune. This can shock the plant and slow down growth.

Top if you like, but there so small at the moment, id be surprised if they lived, espscialy outdoors.

    Topping and Pruning?

    Hello Pothead

"Topping or Pinching" ...................... here's two pics of where I "pinched" the main stem to promote the growth of two main stems.

I just pinch it with my fingernails but I would reccomend using a pair of small sharp sicissors if you haven't done it before.

Never be worried about asking questions, if you need to know more just ask

Oh by the way, the first pic shows a fresh "pinch" and the second pic is how it looks a few days later.

    Topping and Pruning?

Stop posting the same stuff in a million places. It's annoying and a waist of time.
We read everything. There is no reason to post it in every sectiion.
Especially such a simple topic that was answered over and over.

    Topping and Pruning?

That's ok Pothead , Pinching will and does usually increase amount of bud to some degree.

I'll just load a pic of the present grow, the same one as the pics in my previous post, on it you can see how the two main stems are flowering.
They have about another five weeks to go yet as they are approximately 23 days on the flowering cycle on this pic

    Topping and Pruning?

Some strains grow smaller buds after being toppped. And it ends up being around the same. But personally I like untopped big fat huge topps.
Sometimes when you top you need to support the plant because it gets top heavy.
