This REALLY bites!!! The student body should take all the funds they would have spent for prom and rent a hall for themselves for the party. Exclude the damn people that made this ruling and piss on the board of education for backing it up!!

Damn, so upset I have to go toke one down!!!!!!!!

He didn't give his approval so the school broke the rules and the law correct? Now what should be their punishment for violating his rights and maybe breaking the law?

Why, absolutely fucking nothing. I thought that would have been obvious.. I mean, every governing body is completely right in everything that we do, and it's just our Divine Calling to agree with everything that any governing body does.. anything less is just un-American!

    The decision was reversed.

Although MJ prohibition is wrong, and the school's rule was stupid, the high school prom problems of debutante daughters from the Cape Cod privileged class are not exactly issues that I lose much sleep over.

Cape school reverses ban on prom guests
    By Associated Press | May 11, 2006

YARMOUTH -- Officials in the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District have decided to allow six nonstudents to attend the high school prom Saturday as dates of current students, after a ban on the would-be prom-goers triggered an outcry.

The nonstudents had been barred from attending the prom after school administrators conducted criminal background checks that revealed that six prom guests had criminal records.

In a statement released today, the school district reiterated its position that attending school functions as a guest is a privilege, not a right. The statement defended the original decision, saying it was in keeping with a policy stated in a school handbook.

School officials said they will continue to investigate the matter to determine whether the policy should be modified.

Earlier this week, school administrators said they checked the backgrounds of about 40 dates because of a growing concern about nonstudents attending the dance.

Erica Eckert and Lindsey Roderick said they planned to bring their longtime boyfriends, both recent graduates of Cape Cod Regional Technical High School in Harwich.

Eckert's mother told The Cape Cod Times that her daughter's date, 19-year-old Russell Robie, faced a possession of alcohol charge when he was 18.

Erica Eckert said this week that she did not want to make a big deal about it.

''I want my prom date to be able to go."

What are you a slave for the government?

Imagine if someone told you that you couldn't go to the prom with the love of your life because of some small thing you did years ago (had a bit of weed on you).
Are you gonna say: "well.. rules are rules.. nothing I can do about it.." and just sit alone in your house and jack off while everyone else is having a romantic blast at the prom?
The prom-- the once in a LIFE TIME opportunity.
What are you a fucking loser?
I would have just laughed at their faces and just go to the prom without giving a damn. Get an army to stop me. I'd sue those bastards for everything they're worth.

I think it would be very unamerican to follow a rule as dumb as that.
Myth, you seem to enjoy following the rules and such, but to follow every rule including stupid pointless ones will only make you a pawn and a cowardly loser.

You're no fuckin different than the nazi soldiers who's excuse for the death of 6 million jews was: "I did it cause I was told to".
