I doubt the pure essence of emo isn't some sissy whining about how his girl broke up with him and went to fuck another man and he's mad but can't beat up the dude because he's too small. I never understood what true emo consists off.

I dislike people hating on Emo, because they clump a few shitty pop bands into a broad genre which most of the bands are simply indie. I had friends that said Death Cab For Cutie is emo, but they're music is clearly more indie. Like some dude above thought Radiohead was emo. Sure their music is dark, but it's innovative, progressive rock.

Goth music consists of bauhaus, the cure, siouxsie & the banshees--all music I like. What are some emo bands? Radiohead? They seem pretty emotional. The closest I ever got to dressing like a rebel was when break dancing came out (mid 80's) Parachute pants and Thriller jacket. You gotta love rebels/punks. They push the Rating: 5
