Admit it or not, but half of you that hate emo's have never met one in your life..your just following the fad that it's cool to hate 'em .
That really just isn't true at all.

I agree that the internet has a lot to do with some fads, but there have been fads like greasers and mods as far back as the 50's when teens began to be given money. Teens with money are the problems. There's no time to be part of some poseurdom when they're doing homework and mowing their parents lawns.

There is a famous club in Austin, Texas called Emo's where "underground" acts play. Austin is chock full of emo looking people but they're quite happy and baked.

Orangeman, you come across much older than 15.

Hey, high school kids. I don't know. What are the stereotypes called these days (i.e. emos, nerds, dweebs, jocks, preps)???

I can't stand high school. People are so quick to label people; not that I'm anti-label but I often get labeled wrong. For instance, I make fun of this kid who listens to crappy emo music and I say, "Even if I listened to emo I wouldn't listen to that shit," and he says, "You try so hard to be a non-conformist and it's so annoying," which he says in a pitying voice. It infuriates me even more when I explain to him that I'm not a non-conformist because I conform to bluejeans and PS2, but he can't pay arrention long enough! Kids these days have the attention spans of babies. I make fun of a girl for wearing hot topic and hollister shirts and not knowing the difference between a data cd and an audio cd and she does the exact same thing that the first person I told of does! If I could just kill all of these people and continue living a normal life I would.

In my opinion, emos are as bad as any other "category" with kids obviously feeling that they can't just be themselves.

I blame the parents. Oh, and the internet.
yea man it is a travesty. it also makes me sick just like when im in the bootleg spot, i see white kids and what are known as nerds comin in buyin those long ass t-shirts, wearin jordans, etc.... i always say in my head yo just be yourself damn it people wll respect you.

Emo's have pretty much died around here. There's some "new breed" that wears polo shirts and khakis, or the usual tight "emo" clothes on certain days.

I remember getting fucked into taking an art class on teacher recommendation (this was 1-2 years ago I believe). This was the peak of "emo" around my school and the majority of the class was "emo". I knew a a lot of these people prior to the wave of the trend. I tried to sit amongst them and their shitty abstract art to pick up some old conversations. These old friends had suddenly forgotten my name.

Oh well, I see them around today, still trying to find their true self via myspace and the local coffeeshop downtown...
