I hate when people are self described punks... it seems so counterproductive to what the movement was all about. Punk has become a system (like HotTopic) and is no longer about individuality and liberation from societal constraints.

I hate when people are self described punks... it seems so counterproductive to what the movement was all about. Punk has become a system (like HotTopic) and is no longer about individuality and liberation from societal constraints.

I doubt the pure essence of emo isn't some sissy whining about how his girl broke up with him and went to fuck another man and he's mad but can't beat up the dude because he's too small. I never understood what true emo consists off.

I dislike people hating on Emo, because they clump a few shitty pop bands into a broad genre which most of the bands are simply indie. I had friends that said Death Cab For Cutie is emo, but they're music is clearly more indie. Like some dude above thought Radiohead was emo. Sure their music is dark, but it's innovative, progressive rock.

All I have to say is why do you care so much?
Let people wear what they want to wear, at the end of the day it has nothing to do with you....get on with your own lives and stop worrying about other people....
