Every time I'm switching channels and there's some video on, it's likely to be some 22 year old female singing the same old bland, unoriginal lyrics (And sometimes, in a burst of UBERTALENT, they might even be playing their own guitar - a bland, unoriginal four chord progression, recycled from hundreds of thousands of lame tunes over the last few years)..
I know not everyone does, but the amount of people that do kills me... and the worst part is like you said, we already know what's going to happen to them. They will go from Fox to MTV. It's sick. What's worse is ClearChannel bought out the raido too so that's fucked. (OH did you see univeral got sued the other day by NY for buying airtime... it was a pretty big case) But the fact that people can watch MTV see that shit and then want to go on to a game show to aspire to be that. It's like watching COPS and hoping you get arrested...

hey hey grammy, you never saw me coming
you were busy on your knees keeping eminem hummin
freedom is a crock, the business doesn't rock
you keep out the good stuff with your radio lock

One day you will say
where has the music gone
You'll turn on your radio only to find
It's all been replaced by dollar signs
And you'll still find us,
kickin out the rock down at first avenue
you can do your best to try to put up a fight
it won't do no good because the vibe is to tight

Publisher's Clearinghouse you've got better odds
than trying to get your music past the corporate squats
all dressed in black face shields down
billy clubs bangin' turn that kinky reggae down

MTV too, what's the deal with you
I'm so sick of your sexy dancing teeny bopper crew
What's up with the guns, I hate the word whore
