    Well, i think so, yes.

Theres been alot of converations recently about LPS, and after looking at a lumen chart, it seems to have the highest lumen out put, higher than HPS.

Although im not sure, i have never used it, or seen them.

If its not too expensive then try it, otherwise go with CFL's as Zandor said, or save up and get a HPS

What is "too expensive" to you? Because if it's higher than $300 then I think I might have a site that has a HPS light for only $249.00. I dont think the lights are expensive, they are well worth it.

EBAY is the answer to cheap growing equipment. Some people get paranoid about eBay selling your info to the police, but I really dont think eBay are gonna sell info to the cops about someone buying a couple of lights. Im sure that if you ordered ten 1000w HPS lights and a few hydro growing kits they might be interested though.
Try and find a person that lives locally thats selling stuff. I found someone selling a 250w HPS, ballast, reflector (decent 'enclosed' one, not them useless Dutch Barn jobbies where light gets reflected out to the sides aswell), timer and relay for £90, so I snapped it up. Probably couldve found it cheaper, but when I went to collect it (did the deal outside of eBay) we ended up having a toke and now Ive got a new friend.

be wary , ... a lot of those lamps I've seen on eBay are 'converted' Used lights, they MAY have thousands of hours on their ballasts, etc ... not to say you can't find a bargain, just be aware ... :smokin:

Lip does not the LPS lights have a shift in the color spectrum outside of what we use? It may have lumens but unless things have changed (and they do) the last time I checked they were above 8200k and we use 2700k-6500k

I could be wrong; I have not looked into the new bulbs. I just quoted my past experience from memmory

If you're british, try basement lighting, I got a decent 400w HPS for about 70 quid.
