I dont find that analogy to be very effective in convincing me that we are more like a "garden" rather than a "comptuer". Maybe a cross between the both of them?? A computerized garden??

As I see it, reality is based on consistancy. If I see it, everybody else sees it, it affects me, it affects absolutely everybody else in the same way and never fails to do so, it would seem our assumption on what we're viewing is correct. And even if not, if the event, person, or thing affects everything and everybody in the exact same way, is that not the nature of its existence, how it affects other entities in existence?

The Matrix stole an age-old belief, that the only reason why things are the way they are is it because it is agreed. For example, that desk it there because we all agree it's there. That building is there because it is the collected belief that it is there. The majority dictates what exists and what doesn't exist.

This post is tempting me to go into some quantum physics. You're absolutely right. I'm not gonna get into detail, but here's something to ponder. We see with our minds, not our eyes. If we decide that an object does not exist, and we get that new view ingrained in our minds enough, we will no longer see that object.

Here's some suggested material. The movie "What the bleep do we know". And the novel "The Self-Aware Universe, how consciousness creates the material world" by Amit Goswami, Ph.D. These materials will drastically alter the way you perceive the universe, in a positve way, in my experience.
