if you want to avoid the latch problem altogether... you could try putting an L shape piece of wood along the top and bottom of the doors. if you nail it to the the bottom and top of the doors it would keep light from getting out (or so it seems).
it's not the most genius plan i've ever come up with, but i think it will work. but, i would not live or die by it, never used a cabinet like that personally so i should not have the final word.
best of wishes!

I use two bungee cords to pull my "door" against my cab. It isn't a "door" actually, it's more of a "front-panel-wannabe-door" thing...
Bungee cords... they work very good.
And for light leaks, you can use that garden pond black liner material...

Okay home grower, first of all, I don't see an intake and exhaust. I assume that's in the back of the cabinet or something.
To block the light from leaking out of your cabinet, and just as importantly, into your cabinet, use poly film.
You can buy sheets of poly film from online hydro retailers. You're going to end up spending maybe $20 and ending up with a lot more than you need. But that's okay because you may want to re-cut and re-shape it.
Here's what you need.
1. Velcro Tape
2. Poly Film.
Take one of the velcro adhesive strips and put it on the inside of your cabinet. Now cut a square (or rectangle or whatever) and line the outside edge of it with the velcro. Now obviously you place it behind your door, forming a light-proof seal.
Any questions?

I used once just a giant black trash bag in front of the door.
Also, the latches that close windows will work fine..you might need 3 of them.
Just cover the leakage with black plastic trash bag.

Harddon, I agree a 100%. Giant black trash bags work excellent. And like Hallucinogizer said before - where is your exhaust and intake ? Otherwise looking good. You'll be able to work with that cabinet. Good luck to you.

go to home depot and use a window latch for verdical windows. its hard to explain but if you live around one they are in the red box with all the other random latch crap. There are like a half moon with a arm that pulls the window down tight and latches it you can install it at the bottom and top and it will keep the doors tight and locked. try it... link to a picture of it. http://www.homedepot.com search "ives window lock" and you will see a little brass one for 2 bucks..

buy a cabinet lock and sum foam striping in a roll line the striping around inside door edge then install cabinet lock the lock pack comes with diffrent size latches install the strike plate as to make it to where u have to push the door in to lock it that way when u push the door and lock it it will stay tight and the strip will fill in the crack and ur looking at maybe 15$ worth of stuff:thumbsup:
(loose lips sink ships):
(the only easy day was yesterday)
(u need to be wise and learn the art of shutup)
