First Time Cloning
I've just cloned my first plants about 10 days ago (to determine sex). I took 8 clones (4 white widow, 4 big bud). I used rockwool cubes, cloning gel and all, and they appear to be surviving. They're in a mini-greenhouse tent to keep humid.
Almost all of the stems on my clones have turned deep red. Is this good or bad?
Also, I think the clones may have been a little too big at first because the stems couldn't really support the weight. I trimmed down some leaves and they have bounced back. The stems are curved under the weight, but I think they are getting stronger.
Should I wait until I see roots sticking out the bottom of the cubes before putting them into my flowering room for sexing, or can I assume that they are doing o.k. since it's been 10 days and they're still alive?
I'm dying to determine sex because one of the big bud mothers is over 3" tall and I want to flower that bad boy.... er... girl... I hope.sundaytoker Reviewed by sundaytoker on . the common answer in these forums as to the red stems, is usually blamed on wide temperature variations ... I have one plant of four, with red stems, all in the same cabinet, same temps etc ... perhaps there is something different about my one red-stemmed plant, dunno ... :smokin:

you dont have to sex any clones, for they take the sex from the plant you clipped them from..
so if you took the clippings from the big " mother ", then they would be female.
if you took the clippings from the mother while she was in her flowering stage, then the clone carries that age w/ it as well, so you dont have to put it through the entire veg cycle again.
Good Luck

i believe that he is saying that he had it in a veg cycle and he refered to it as the MOTHER because this si what he hopes it to be or he says it because this says where the clones came from. but IDK
