Hybrid / New Strain / Runderalis

I reworded this info from "The Cannibis Grow Bible" and am including pics showing how a Runderalis plant can look - Four of my 12 ladies are Runderalis plants. They just keep growing, so I topped them to keep them in the light. There are trichs on the leaves and will be good in a vaporizer, but I don't think they would make good tasting herb. Except the parts of the plant that have great buds going. All thes pics are from the same plant.

The last pic shows a Runderalis growing next to my best plant.

A hybrid is the offspring of two different strains. A strain is just a stock line with common parents. Stable strains have stable genetics traits, which means that the offspring will all be quite similar. In fact, most strains are called strains because of their uniformity in growth and less variations in the offspring. Hybrids tend to be unstable, or genetically unpredictable, because of their â??newnessâ??. A good stabilized hybrid eventually becomes a strain.

Most unstable hybrids do not find their way into the market and are found only among breeders who are experimenting with plant genetics. Seed producers tend to only produce strains in the following categories:

    Pure Sativa (pure species)
Sativa (mostly Sativa species with some Indica)
    Pure Indica (pure species)
Indica (mostly Indica species with some Sativa)
Indica/Sativa (50/50 cross between an Indica and a Sativa species)
    Runderalis (pure species)

Runderalis is a problematic plant. It doesnâ??t produce large quantities of THC or flower like the other species. Runderalis is considered substandard by most flowers because it flowers according to age, not according to the photoperiod. That means that the Runderalis cannabis plant will flower when itâ??s mature enough to do so and this flowering action of the Runderalis is â??out of the growers handsâ?? for the most part.

While that is true, ruderalis typically has less THC production, the LR strain, which also has ruderalis in it, to give it its auto flowering traight, is a strong stone/high.

So ruderalis isnt always as bad as people say

I hope your right LIP! I'll let ya know how good the buzz is at this stage I've had some drying for 2 days and can vaporize it tonight. One cool thing about a vaporizer is you can put it in straight from the plant with no drying and it works quite well in a pinch.

Yeah, but it won't be as strong. You're best off oven drying or microwave drying then putting it in the vaporizer if you're in a pinch.

How long do ruderalis plants take to flower, since they do it on their own? Also, do they not need a flowering stage? For instance, if you were to get a ruderalis, and keep it in vegetative stage, would it automatically flower, and not require a dark period?
[align=center]Cannabis has done nothing but help myself and others I know. It is a beneficial plant. Anyone who thinks otherwise is ignorant and/or brainwashed. It should not be illegal anywhere in the world.

There are 4 of 12 ladies that are Ruderalis. They all began flowering around the same time. Two of them were reveged. One of those two grew normally while the other went Ruderalis. I tried some last night from some that is in the last third time span of flowering... In a vaporizer is was pretty good!

ahhh lady v you always start a thread on something im looking into lol.i am growing aurora indica from nervana and as you know they are well known for their ununiformed strains. So i got 3 diferent pheno types 2 showing indica traits,1showing heavy sativa traits and 1 showing ruderelis this plant is ay 6 weeks flower and there is no bud swelling like the others loads of pistals but no swelling of the buds.It was the plant i was keeping for cuttings for my next grow and it auto flowered at 79 days ,i should have known that as it had female pre flowers at 3 week loads of them all over the place. It is nothing like yours and to be honest it looks like a common weed exept for the leaves.i know the ruderalis strain grows best in 10 hours dark 14 hours lightits a very intresting strain and do you have any pics .I will get some pics tonight and show youhow this looks it is know were near as good looking as yours but thats nervana for you.I have just crossed white russian with this wicked strain that mobay got from jamaica so i think i will pollenate this ruderalis with wr and then introduce this to the wr jamaican cross and see if i can get a auto flowerting strain any thoughts on this.Top job with the reveg , very well done.the postman.

I wouldn't grow Ruderalis indoors. In my opinion it is a waist of space. It is an outdoor strain. So you can get several harvests per season. Thats it.
Indoors you mine as well grow a sea of green with some good genetic's. Because your controling everything anyway.
    See what I mean.
