    Wife left me, took everything.

Hi, I'm pretty new to these forums and haven't posted but once or twice. Recently, I had a knock-down drag out with my old lady. Nothing new, but this time a little different. Skip forward a little and she starts breaking shit and I leave. Like I said, nothing new, but this time different. So, I come back home after a couple hours of calming my nerves to find that everything in the house is gone. Everything of value anyway. My computer, my jewelry, tv, etc. all gone. Things are broken everywhere and nobody's home. First thing I thought was a burglary, and start freaking because my wife and child are gone, but then I see a note saying she did it and she doesn't wanna be with me anymore. Needless to say, I'm a little angry. She took all of my posessions including $500 for the rent. Everything is gone or broken (she cut a brand new pair of jordans in half). So, I leave and haven't heard from her since. I've been in a state of quasi-deppression and binge-drug abuse. I'm sure I haven't handled the situation correctly, but I just don't know what else to do. Honestly, I'm trying to vent a little but would also like a little input from some of the older males on the boards. Maybe someone else has been through this situation, but being only 19, it's kinda hard on me. Thanks for any help.

well dude i dunno what to tell you, me and my wife (i'm 20) have those hellish fights all the time, but we never split up.... it's threatened.... but i don't think either of us could really ever leave the other.... first thing's first, go back w/e and take pictures, lots and lots of fucking pictures of everything she did, next, itemize (sp?) everything, and either find a reciept, or estimate what it's value was at the time it was 'stolen'...

in texas, once your married, everything is equally as much your wife's as it is your's, even if you both brought things into the relationship, that the other wasn't even around for.. once the marriage is 'final', everything becomes 'ours' instead of 'mine' and 'yours' not sure if it goes that way for everystate...

the reason for itemizing (sp?) and taking pictures, is so that if you do have to go to court, divorce or w/e, you have proof of everything she did, and blah blah blah... you might also want to call the local police, file a police report, and find out what your options are, if any.

i promise you, that if you don't take the pictures and shit.... and she takes you to court for spousal support, child support, custody or any of the like, you will get fucked... you need proof of what transpired, how much damage was done, so that the judge can decide fairly, who was in the 'right' and who was in the 'wrong' even tho you both might have been.. the person who handled it 'less correctly', are often the ones that end up paying for it in the end.

either way, keep track of shit that you might need, if court should come up, starting with getting that list and the pics done ASAP... and make sure you atleast call the police and file a report, otherwise if this issue comes up in court, and you didn't file a police report, the judge is going to look at you and say "well, you didn't file a police report, obviously it wasn't that big of a deal to you at the time..." or something like that... good luck

That really sucks... can you get a lawyer? Or the police involved? I know, not the best option, but at least maybe you can get some of your stuff back...? Good luck...

Old timer with two divorces here. Just write the stuff off and start over. I know it's hard to do but it's really your only option. If you two were getting to that point the split it probably for the best.

My last divorce, when the wife was packing, my ex-father-in-law asked how I could just sit on the couch while his daughter packed all the stuff without me having any knowledge what she was taking. I told him that peace of mind was alot more important than stuff, that can be replaced but a war is just going to be trouble.

Your young, there'll be more stuff in the future and a lady too! It's going to be a rocky ride....KEEP YOUR HEAD!!!

    Have a good one!

You Ain't Leavin' (Thank God Are Ya)...Toby Keith

    Till death do us part
Was what she told that preacher man
Now she says this ain't worth dying for
She's had all she can stand

    She's boxed up momma's china
    It's loaded on the truck
    She just got started packing
And I'm thinking this could suck

    Now there goes my lazy-boy
    My flat-top guitar
    Here comes her big sister
What's she doing in my car

As they drive off to the city
    I just wave
From the top of my lungs
I hope she heard me say

You ain't leaving Thank God are you
You can't be gone fast enough
What seemed to take a lifetime
Just left in a cloud of dust
This will make my girlfriend happy
She's the one who never thought you would
You ain't leaving Thank God are you
Let us pray you're gone for good:dance:

    She forgot her new laptop
So I know she'll be back
I'll have a hot tub full of hotties
    Icing down a 24-pack

She'll cuss me like a sailor
    But I don't care
I'll have a few choice words
When I come up for air

You ain't leaving Thank God are you
You can't be gone fast enough
What seemed to take a lifetime
Just left in a cloud of dust
This will make my girlfriend happy
She's the one who never thought you would
You ain't leaving Thank God are you

    Adios:thumbsup:

    i feel your pain homie
    girls are my biggest problem
its a real thin line between love and hate
your only 19 thats good in a way
some people go thru this at like 44
and when your older its much harder to snap out of it
the pain you feel is one of the worst pains out there
    the only cure is time
whatever you gotta do to make it thru the day
and the long fucking nights then do it
youll snap out of it as soon as you meet a new lady
Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
