Yes, if someone knows they have an STD it would be incredibly stupid to have unprotected sex. It would be irresponsible on their behalf, and for all they know they could be exposing themselves to more diseases. I get that.

I was talking about committed, monogamous relationships, where both partners know they are clean. If neither partner is sleeping with other people, then STD's couldn't be introduced, and they wouldn't need to be checked regularly. Therefore, if those people want to have unprotected sex, I don't understand why they shouldn't. Please explain to me how you think there could be a risk involved there.

I said that nobody here thinks unprotected sex is safer than using a condom because I think you've misinterpreted their posts as you did mine. It's blatently obvious that unprotected sex is never safer than using a condom, but in the example I gave I think it would be just as safe because I don't think there would be a risk involved at all.

Finally, yes I have read the whole thread, with increasing levels of frustration. I really, truly, honestly don't understand why you can't concede that unprotected sex between monogamous, clean partners is not going to be a risk to them. From where would either one catch an STD?

Studies by the Global Health Organization alone show that the practice of monogamy within hetersexual as well as in gay and lesbian partnerships over the past 20 years found that at least 37% of men and 29% of women have engaged in unprotected sex outside their "monogamus" relationship. It is also a fact than many people that do cheat on their committed partner admit to having unprotected sex with others and will not confess to their betrayal. There are many links if you would me to post them..or you could just google and there is MUCH more info on this subject if you have a true interest..also when some people do enter into a monogamous relationship and do not stray..there have been cases of them testing negative initially then upon retesting were positive..and unknowingly passed the infection to their partner. People will and do lie and cheat in a monogamous relationship..then stay silent..knowing they have exposed not only betrayal on the emotional level but on the physical level also to others..that is a fact. You need to seriously consider doing more research on the monogamous issue and HIV/AIDS..its considered an actual barrier in preventing the spreading of this disease. There ARE 4 steps given in having unprotected sex..but after you finish the 4th one that says to repeat step 1 if starting a new relationship....kind of puts a damper on trusting someone with your life imo. Almost forgot..women that are raped and do not report it..they also stay silent. The only way I "concede" on having unprotected sex in a monogamous relationship would to be tested for 10 straight years after marriage/commitment..but thats just me. Because you are so ashamed of yourself for using that word incorrectly that you refused to tell me what you meant by it, I chose to look it up myself and found one definition other than the obvious stone related verb, which is to cheat, and looking at the context of your post I have concluded that you used it completely wrong; therefore, you suck.
