its each individuals choice wat they do with there life and wether they suit up.

if im with a partner thats on the pill then i wont wear any raincoat and im sure lots of couples are the same out there.

if we catch anything then fuck it,it will b our own fault and u can say "i told u so"
A condom on my head?? Thats not where its supposed to go weezy...shame on you. Since it seems to be so nonchalant for unprotected sex maybe you and others that have flamed me for my belief should just type aids in google and you can actually educate yourself on this epedimic. Just a sample here...By 2005 more than 40 million people are infected-double from 1995...New infections among women especially young women outpace men..a stark reminder that gender and violence against women are fueling this epedimic. The 40 million broke down shows 17.5 million women and 2.3 million children under the age of 15 are infected. In 2005 alone 3.1 million people died of HIV/AIDS related causes..so ladies..please THINK!! If a man insists on unprotected sex..maybe you need to get a mental image of getting a positive test result back in the future all because you wanted to please your man at the time. Aids not only affects the individual infected it ravages families and communities..and the caring for ill family members rests mainly with women and girls that are many times ill themselves. Oh! And on unprotected sex in marriage..Some research indicates that married women are in FACT more at risk for HIV than unmarried women. So WEEZY while you insult me about a condom on my head I will still post what I can on this subject..you will not deter me okay..and your statement that if "we catch anything it will be our own fault and I can say I told you so" is NOT what I would want..that is just a stupid remark..because when you catch "something" most don't even know they have it and continue to spread it. UNPROTECTED SEX is dangerous and the spread of this disease can be halted with active participation in prevention. People lie..every day...women please please think before taking the chance on dying young..and it can be a very slow, painful death...all for a bit of "pleasure".

    Good morning, Shelbay!

I'm curious about what sort of work you do for a living. And are you married?

Good Morning birdgirl! Wow..thats a nice post to see..someone actually saying good morning, thank you! I don't work (get paid lol) anymore and yes I am married..I do volunteer work now..all over the country. You come from a family that specializes in health so I assume (uh-oh) lol, that you of all people understand traveling nurses. I had a "breakdown" and still struggle sometimes to maintain my mental health and I always feel better when I see that my actions (work) actually help make "things better" for people..Its so hard for me to see suffering..it affects me sometimes to the point I have to basically shut the world out and realize and accept that I can't make everyone well and happy....am I making sense? My main priority at home right now is Domestic Violence for illegal hispanic women..it is becoming a passion for me to translate in violent cases so that pertinent information is not lost in translating for them..I married well this time and just really like to help women in any way I can...this "thing" with me about unprotected sex is that I have worked with crack and heroin babies that are abandoned and the majority of them are also born with HIV and I hate their mothers for taking their chance at life from them..I really do..I know I shouldn't hate and I fight it but the truth is the truth..anyway..I hope this makes sense. I would post more but I have to watch what I do reveal on here so please don't think I am being vague. If you take the time to read my post history you will see that I am not a "ballbreaker" type of woman but I care for women in general and detest men that abuse us. Oh..and until 2 more years have passed and we (my husband and I) continue to receive negative results on our tests..we do to this day use condoms. Am I that over cautious about this issue to you? Seriously imo..all it takes is a few seconds to roll that condom on and cut the chances of infection..stds affect so many people! At one time in my life I was Charge Nurse on ICU..then moved to CICU...but that was many years ago..many. Whats your story?

Bless your heart! What an interesting story--and I feel like I understand you much beter now. You sound quite reasonable, and I see where you're coming from now. And trust me, I didn't think you were a ballbreaker. You're simply passionate and articulate about something you feel strongly about.

I really admire traveling nurses. There are some who come through the hospital my husband practices in. He's a cardiologist, and some of the cardiology and neurology traveling nurses he's worked with are the smartest, best folks he and the other staffers have ever worked with. It makes them sad that they're not permanent staffers sometimes, esepcially considering how short they all are on nursing staff these days.

Glad you're working on the domestic violence issues, too. That's so important. We had a next-door neighbor who was a real creep who abused his wife, and it was truly an appalling situation. Late-night police calls. Loud, vocal fights that were clearly audible to the houses on both sides. We intervened on three occasions and called the police. After that began, I volunteered in our local women's shelter for a couple of years just because the situation piqued my interest. During that process, I sent my neighbor a card, both to her home and her work address in case he screened her mail at home, that gave her the card and contact info for the shelter. I did that anonymously but wrote a little message in there about how everyone deserves to be safe, and it apparently worked because not long after that, she moved out one day when the creep was at work and they're now divorced. That situation really opened my eyes, and it still makes me count my blessings about what a fortunate, loving situation I'm in.

Right now I'm a writer for a big company in the Dallas area. I write ads, brochures, Web copy, speeches. Lots of stuff. And I mostly get to work at home. But my first love is and always has been medicine. I was a paramedic for 6 years when I was younger and my second major in college was pre-med. So now I've been lucky enough to be accepted to med school and have to determine whether, here in middle age, I really want to turn my life upside down and go that route. But as I mentioned previously, I can't easily do anything right now or probably for the next fall school term. My older sister has stage 3 ovarian cancer and is here with us and, I'm afraid, is getting sicker. She's in a very kick-ass chemo program, but it's probably only going to slow down the spread of the disease. That's why I came online here to be able to find weed to help her. It has helped, but I wish to goodness it could really cure her. This is the one very sad, depressing thing in my life.

Wow! Sorry for such a long message. You said you work with hispanic women. Are you down here along the border like we are in Texas? Or in one of the other states that border Mexico? (Not that you'd have to be. Hispanic immigrants are in lost of other areas besides the border states). Just curious.

    Talk to you again soon!

Speaking of statistics, condoms only prevent against HIV 85% of the time, so you may want to rethink including HIV shit in your pro-condom use argument, unless you think 85% is good enough. I don't think you do.

Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
