What you are planning on is similar to growing in pots so treat it the same and you will be fine. I assume you are growing organic.

It will cost some bank to fill a hole that large with good soil mix. You don't think it's better to just dig one hole for each plant and not just one big plot?
Zandor- Well, I planned on filling the hole back in with some of the dirt i dug out of it with. I just want to mix it up as good as possible with pete moss or top soil. Perlite = those little rocks right? How much of that should I buy, and about how much would that cost? Also, how do I balance the PH level?

Should I go for pete moss over top soil, other way around, or a mixture of both?

I had originally planned on digging one hole for each plant but someone told me it would be better to dig one big hole because of the root problem. Also I don't think I'm going to do the plastic thing anymore, I'll just fill it back in with good dirt/perlite. My reason being is I'm afraid the plastic will stunt the roots growth.

Here's an update on my hole, I worked on it for about 45 minutes today.

P.S. Only one of my seeds has germinated so far (I have about 50-75) and I started them on saturday. Is this normal? If I can't get the dirt/perlite until Saturday but my seeds are germinated by tomorow or Friday, will it be ok to keep them in the paper towels even though they are germinated?
