    1st grow

growing one white widow (tallest) and three unknowns all from same bag. growing in a mylar covered cabinet (59"x28"x14") with CFL only. Canopy is (1) 100w and the side lights (7) are 23w for a total of ~260w. Potted in miracle grow soil, using superthrive and shultz nutes. Not sure how long they've been vegging, maybe a month or so for the widow and three weeks for the unknowns. I've been overwatering for sure and I had nute burn on the leaves, but they seem to be doing well in spite of me. I was hoping to take some clones (2) from the widow and reduce the height of it, but I've never done it and really don't want to kill the plant since it's the only one I have going right now.

they look very healthy ... you DO need to get them into bigger pots, though ... they are probably getting close to being root-bound ... bigger pots, bigger yield, also watering will be less frequent and crucial ... when re-potting, use PLAIN potting soil ... the Miracle Grow soil has 3-4 months worth of nitrogen time-release nutes in it .. thats fine for initial growth, but not good for the flower stage ... keep up the good work .. :smokin:

no such thing as too big ... a common compromise is the #5 pots, approximately 11" diameter, 12" tall ... this is first time Ive gone this big, and for indoors, I think they will be sufficient ... for years I used 10" clay pots with good results, too ... I prefer clay pots because they 'breathe', the excess nutrient 'salts' leach thru the clay, if over-fertilized, BUT they need water more frequently ... these new #5 are plastic, and seem to be just fine ... my little girls look good in them, like black patent-leather shoes ... lol ...:smokin:

Thanks. I did repot to 8" pots all but the smallest of the plants which I left in the same pot. I will reduce the watering as you suggested, thanks.

these plants are skunky and seem to be staying lower than that widow. the widow stretched like that during germ in the ziploc on the paper towel.
