Questioning whether or not LEO purchased this site IS a valid concern. You cannot dispute that fact.

Reasons why LEO would benefit from purchasing this site:
1) They can log IP addresses without any need for warrants or the like.
2) They will know the user name and passwords of everyone here, which the owners/administrators can then use to hack people's email accounts (gmail, msn), blogs (MySpace, Friendster), etc. on other websites if the user uses the same password/username.
3) Also, by knowing everyone's email as an owner/admin, they may be able to glean more evidence about the user's identity. E.g., if the user's contact email is [email protected], LEO has one more thing to point to which verifies the user's identity.
4) They can read the PM's of paying members, which may contain information on illegal activities that they would want to investigate.
5) They gain revenue to fund their bogus WOD.
6) They can censor/ban posters who have something to say on this site which exposes LEO's activities.
7) By owning the site, it would sure clear up any legal ambiguities about how LEO should have been allowed to capture information on this website to use in an investigation of the posters.
8) By identifying the posters on this site with information the LEO owners gained through owning Cannabis.com, LEo could use the information to establish contact with posters through other means. Examples would be, initiating contact with the poster via undercover agent in person, chat rooms, etc.
9) with the use of relatively little manpower, LEO can monitor the activities of thousands of people and gain information on their indentities, residence, activities, and evidence of illegal activities.

The sale consisted of the cannabis.com internet domain name along with some assorted variations... The content itself was included at no cost to be used in conjunction with Cannabis.com only in a similar manner as it is now as per licensing agreements. While I can't say for certain what the new owner will or won't do, as of now, relatively few changes are expected. Some may wonder why I sold Cannabis.com - in a Rating: 5
