Cloning Procedure
Hey y'all. I have read the cloning 101 and searched the forums on cloning yet i havent been able to find a picture with indication on EXACTLY where to cut. Is this a good place to make the cut? Olivia's cloning gel will be used with rockwool and Olivia's cloning solution which is supposed to stimulate root growth. Im debating on wether to use the aero bubble or in water with solution method. Is this a good place to make the cut? ALso, should those leaves with the crispy edges be cut or just let be? They were due to over enthusiastic feeding.

make the 1st cut as close to the trunk as possible then you can work with the cutting much easier as it gets prepped for the rooting chamber. once the branch is cut, clean your razor blade again as you'll be making a cut at a 45 degree angle at the desired heigth of the cutting. i also look for cuttings with leaves in the rooting area as once these are cut off and the area dipped in rooting solution (i use clonex) the roots will grow 1st from these sites. i also use only distilled water for all of their watering needs and once dipped in solution they go straight into jiffy cubes. i keep them under a clear dome (under flouro's) except for a couple 20 minutes breaks/day when they're aired out and tended to whatever is needed. roots are usually visible through the cubes at 12-14 days and ready for planting up to a week later as i like to wait until there is a good-sized wad of roots sticking thru the cubes before going into the dirt and under either the sun or big lights.
that's how i do it but there are other ways to be successful...

Cloning Procedure
So the second cutting should be something like 4 inches tall or so, keeping in mind what u said about looking for leaves in the rooting area as it would become the bottom or "dipping end"?
Would it also be a good idea to scrape the rooting area so as to rough it up, expose it and saturate it with cloning gel?
What do u think about the leaves with the crispy edges? should they stay or go?
Thank you very much

4" is a good heigth...it doesn't matter so much but it's easier to work with if they're reletively close to same heigth. i've never scraped them...they seem to like clean cuts better. but try it on a couple if you have room to experiment...or save the experiments for later. i don't pull leaves...they fall off on their own in my gardens.
i usually use extra long branches from the bottom of the plant, especially if cloning late in the veg and those can be cut into individual 4" or so cuttings...
