What do your parents do to annoy you?

My dad left my mom with 4 kids when I was 5 (and then had the balls to declare us as dependents on his taxes for several years after). Then my mom got addicted to booze and pills and ended up driving drunk, running into a telephone pole, and dying when I was 12 (with me in the car, lucky I survived). While I was between the ages of 5 and 12 though, she managed to marry 2 and almost 3 physically abusive drunks, one of whom broke my collarbone one night and almost killed her with the beating he gave her. I ended up stabbing him with a fork that night, deep, and he never touched ME again. (And this was a guy I told her would not be a good husband *before* she married him.)

Not hating on my parents. They were just flawed people, as are most people. I'm just trying to make the point, I suppose, that if all you have to complain about is your parents telling you to clean up, or watching what you're watching on TV...well, you've got it pretty good!

Now this is a good example of someone who has the right to be a little upset with the life they got. my ex g/f was abused as a kid by her moms husband, i told her that if he even looked at her funny that id fuck him up, send him to the hospital and do a little permanent physical damage.

if you wanna beat someone up DONT fuck up a little girl or your wife, that just makes you the biggest pussy there is, its like u cant do anything else so u have to abuse people who dont deserve it and who cant stop it. i'll live by that rule.

now im usually ALL about minding my own business but i'll force my rules on other people when it comes to domestic violence, i am fucking zero tolerance for that shit, because its happened to me and alot of the people who i love (or loved).

and i know parents and kids dont usually get along but theres no law that says you cant have a nice realationship with your parents, cause you're gonna have to go through alot when they die and im sure you'll think back on it all and wish that you had done more to let your parents know that u care about them and love them.

when I was younger I saw a film.
This guys dad is beating him and his mom, so the guy says he is leaving for good, as he is leaving he walks up to his mum and says somthing like "im sorry I didn't make things better for you"

That has stuck in my mind since I watched it, I dont want mum to be lying on her death bed and me walking up to her and pretty much saying sorry i made your life shit.

So I do treat my parents with respect, and I do apprecieate that they have given up over 20 years of their lives to help me out when possible...I follow their rules (to a certain extent) and we all live happily, most of the time. Anything they do that pisses me off I just ignore or act normally, I dont get stressed over stupid shit that they probably dont even realise they are doing.

My mum used to piss me off so much I moved out when I was 17.
I wonâ??t go into it because I feel bad bitching but we get on much better now that we donâ??t live together although 17 was far too young to take on the responsibility of a flat/bills. Anyway, she has emigrated to Australia now so there is no time to argue.

I got annoyed at my dad for expecting me to call him dad after 12 years of not seeing him (was 2 when I last saw him) and for making up excuses as to why he never tried to contact me all those years.

But hey, life's too short for all that shit.

i completely agree with you, which is why i feel like it shouldnt bother me, but i guess its just a pet peeve or something. my parents usually do things that kinda piss me off but i still care about them and love them cuz i know they do sooo much for me and try to make it better for me even if it means making it worse for them. and i dont get like really mad at them im just kinda like wtf? srry if that doesnt make sense.

I have had a quite few problems with my mum mainly since I was a very young child but I was never starved,beaten or treated really badly.We have both made an effort to change and i think she is a less critical now and I am not as wild.If I could choose my parents again I would go with the ones I had because even though there has been some pretty bad times I know that deep down the love was always there.

My dad lies. Like constantly about the weirdest things. He claims he fought in Vietnam (while he DID serve in the Navy during 'nam, he was never stationed there.), he claims he wrote (insert famous song title here)...in spite of the fact that information like that's pretty easy to look up. He gets PISSED if you call him on it. Once he called me a smartass after arguing with him for like 20 minutes that the planet mars is not hundreds of lightyears away, it's less than one. (The nearest star other than our sun is only 4 lightyears away)
