Some thoughts:

Don't hit it and clear it in the same breath. Use one breath to fill the chamber and get a small hit, let it out, take a couple big breaths, and only then go in for the Big Kahuna

Use green tea or Yerba Mahte in the bong-- it adds a nice, gentle, soothing flavor to the hits.

Smoke through a hot liquid, like tea or hot water. The steam from the liquid mixes with the smoke and makes the hits a lot more bearable.

Change your water/liquid EVERY bowl. No need to let the water get dirtier than necessary.


This is all coming from a guy who owns a bong that has already made 2 people vomit and one person pass out in the middle of a movie theater stairway.
