Kentucky Derby Question

Well i don't know how many of you watched the Kentucky Derby but i watched it today and i was thinking to myself... do you think that the horses know that they are competing directly with all the other horses in the race, or do you think the horse just runs around unaware that he is racing the other horses?

also... just a random question.... do you find it offensive when a person calls you a pothead?
