when to harvest
For a start this doesnt go in the hydroponics forum.
Ok, get yourself a loop.
Look at the trichomes, when 50% are cloudy/amber then it is ready to harvest because THC and cannabinol levels are at their optimum.
Doesnt looks ready just yet.

I can move it for you and I will but the 50% is a little later to harvest. By the time it dries and cures you will end up with more like 80% amber.
Remember amber trichomes are degrading and loosing quality. Cloudy is peak harvest but not all trichomes peak up at the same time so you harvest on the average.
Lip is correct you need a lighted 30x pocket microscope to view the trichomes properly. A lup will work but most of them are only 10x and you miss some detail. There are pictures of trichomes in the grow FAQ section but they were taken with a 60x and that was to strong to view a good average. You get the idea from them anyway.
10% to 20% average is better to harvest by. The high will last longer and be stronger with more cloudy trichomes.

try old school I guess If you can't afford to buy one.
There are some drinking glasses that with a little water you can get about 10x magnifying glass either from looking down into the glass or across the glass.
Not the best but better then nothing.
