    Dosent it just suck???

Well here's why it really sucks: normally it's a crappy situation because it's expensive and a hassle and secretive etc. But I depend on it for pain relief and the *fun* of college life is that that supply is much less dependable than having a friend grow it or something.

You want to hear the saddest thing? My boyfriend got me a vaporizer for graduation and I don't have anything to put in it!! I have money, I have a vap, but because I don't know a guy who knows a guy (ugh I hate how shady this whole process is!) I've been in much worse pain than usual for the last three weeks.

I've tried growing in my basement but haven't been having a lot of luck as of yet. I'd love to hang out with anybody in the burgh, just give me an IM.

Growing is not that hard. Buy an air-cooled HID light and a good ventilation fan. :rasta:

It's more a question of how disgustingly moldy and buggy my basement is, I think, and there's no getting around that...

I know you can do it, you will succeed unless you quit trying.

I've been trying! I just graduated and I don't know where I'll be moving, so hopefully wherever I move when I get a job will have a nice closet/basement/garden for me to set up in that won't be quite so disgusting as the basement I've been trying to use. Also, hopefully, I'll be getting, you know, a salary of some sort to pay for better stuff. Hopefully. That's the plan at least. :O)

It's more the fact that any seeds I sprout die after they're transplanted into a pot and moved down into the basement... I think it's because of the bugs/mold/creepy-crawlies, though I'm not really sure. I'd love to start with clones, if I get up to Canada or somebody helps me out that would be a lot easier, but I've been trying to grow in this basement for months and every sprout I put down there ends up dying. But there's nowhere else here for me to grow (I live on a high floor, so it's too hot in my closet). Ah well.

Has anybody else had this problem? Seeds sprout fine, you get them transplanted fine and then they just die? I don't know much about this...

I don't think it's creepy crawlies... you need to creat an enviorment in the basement and grow there... taking seedling from a warm sunny window and throwing them in a dark damp basement is not going to work... go to our grow section lounge and say hello,,,they will sort you out...

Plants appreciate a good air flow.

    I.E. ventilation.

Its also been kinda chilly in some parts of PA. If your basement is closed off to the world with no outside air exchange and is 70f or under, plants can have a hard time taking off or even surviving at all.

You definately don't want to keep going with the basment idea unless you look into good ventilation. A cool damp closed off basement is asking for problems, even if a plant does manage to take hold. Plants are pretty resillient, either way, it could be more of a problem to look into besides that, but, I've cured a lot of bad scenes by ventilating the area and making sure there's decent temperature.

Also keep in mind that the more space there is for the roots to grow into, the healthier the plant. A lot of scenes i see go wrong have to do with too little soil depth, as well. By the time your sprout is 5 inches, its roots can easily reach a foot in depth. When I use end pots (the last planter pots I transplant into) for plants, I use 15 gallon buckets.

Also check the grow lounge and make sure your lighting is adequete.

    That's how you grow geraniums ; )
